The Northeast Pennsylvania Rifle League (NEPARL) comprises eleven high schools located in the Northeastern Pennsylvania region. The league is a co-ed Olympic-style small-bore prone league competing in the winter P.I.A.A. sports season. Teams compete for a regular-season championship and a tournament championship. The teams compete using .22 caliber bolt-action rifles and shoot an A-17 target for the regular season, and a USA 50 target for the States tournament. Shooters have 10 minutes to complete the target, and each team fields 10 shooters, with the 5 best scores on each team comprising the team score. If a tie exists after 5 shooters, NRA rules apply. The top 6 regular-season teams qualify for the tournament championship, and the top 3 teams from the tournament qualify for state competition. The postseason begins with a league All-Star tournament, followed by the league tournament and state individual and team championships.
